I spent a lot of my youth in woods, swamps, and water after being raised in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Alaska. My fine art studies were at Florida School of the Arts, University of North Florida and Flagler College.

What i like about the old cars is that they looked like buggies!

have no idea the name of the street. If anyone can tell me i would appreciate it.

Some large landscapes have been keeping me busy. Here’s two 48x36 marsh scenes i’m working on, they’re resting/ fermenting while i think about buying more paint.

They ain’t happy because they pay high over-head for brick and mortar. So the city officials have decided to take a 75$ deposit, have a lottery and pick 12 artists to sit in the slave market on the east side. (Historically, vegetables were only sold there but the early tour guides invented the name to make it more dramatic.)

I smell another law suit. The Federal Court has ruled that artists are allowed (freedom of speech) to make and sell art.

I pulled into a parking lot in terror and after examining it saw it was a harmless 2 1/2 foot rat snake so i white knuckled it home. Any way, back to the art, i bumped into an old friend on the street and she said,’ maybe i’m just jaded..’. There’s nothing interesting in the galleries. Went into one, small rooms on top of a bank building, nice artist who’s a laid off car dealer; he copied photos of famous celebrities, flat and uninteresting. This is art? not! A band was there, a bar, 50 people. What’s up? The local art scene is dead.

Included are some photos from uptown gallery Wendy Tatter. She is a batik artist who years ago worked at Gypsy cab and sold off the wall. Now she has a tiny gallery and loves what she does.

Like the back but the front looks like a mullet. Anyway, her salon was sooo cute. Cristine works out of her home on Martin L King Blvd. I wish i had taken a picture of the outside of her house. It was so St. Augustine with wooden slats , a front porch and tin roof. A Florida Cracker house. The inside was very artistic. She had an easel set up with a painting and told me she makes metal sculpture; which means she’s a welder.

This last Sat. the Arts Advocate gallery had a show called Earth which is hard to describe you had to experience it. Southern Horticulture covered every inch of the walls and ceiling with plants and mosses and transformed the gallery into a fantasy garden. They had ‘living walls, original art, alligator artistry and more,” it was so much fun and enjoyed by everyone.
